RUATELIER

THE ATELIER APPROACH

Thought first. Then form.

RU Atelier is a design approach to furniture and objects for personal spaces. Material, function and living belong to the same conversation.

FROM THOUGHT TO DETAIL

The decisions you do not see.

The position of a joint, the direction of a surface, the use of a drawer. Design reaches beyond a silhouette. Timber, metal, stone and upholstery come together around the purpose of a piece.

MATERIAL, FUNCTION, PROPORTION

Every material
has something to say.

Considering surfaces together is one way of finding a piece’s identity. A first direction becomes a decision through approved physical samples.

TOGETHER, STEP BY STEP

The making of
a personal piece.

01Conversation

We discuss your space, your needs and how you will live with the piece. The first conversation begins with an idea.

02Design

We consider scale, function and material direction together. Scope and design decisions are clarified before moving forward.

03Samples

Colour and texture are considered through physical samples. Material combinations are agreed together.

04Making & placement

Technical development, making and placement are planned for the individual project. Timing and responsibilities are confirmed separately.
